Thanks to all for a brilliant night on Saturday, and congratulations to all the award winners.
In my President's speech I bumbled on a bit about a couple of lads outside of the committee that I thought were good examples of lads willing to help out the club despite not being in an *official* position, and these are the types of lads that make the club great, no matter how large or small the contribution. Of course, there is always room for the lad that wants to just train and play, but I'd like to point out a few of the boys that deserve a mention.
First up, anyone that's helped with training, especially Mike Mc, John O'Toole and Paul Mahon for running training, but also Vinny for diligently collecting the fivers, and to all the lads that carried the gear week in week out or who washed the bibs; thanks Donal, Darren, Vinny, Pykey and any others I may have missed.
Thanks to Ming for picking up and hauling round 30 Madrid shirts and shorts on his vacation, that's a brilliant contribution right there.
Thanks to all the Assistant Managers too. Steve Zera and Dennis perform a great job finding us fields year in year out, its no easy task but obviously an essential one. Noel Coffey and Z were 4-0 when I was out of town, a record that speaks for itself. Dennis also helped out with managerial duties on the Over30s.
Thanks to all the boys that write the match reports, they are a fantastic way to record the Kendall exploits forever.
Thanks to Donal for securing indoor facilities back last winter.
Here's hoping that this inspires more lads to get involved next year, so we can turn all those 2nd placed finishes into 1st place, and get some more silverware we didn't need to purchase ourselves.
All the best, and Happy Holidays,
Cheers,
Marc
